Poison Dart Frog Table Runner

Poison Dart Frog Table Runner

Designed by Miriam Vergara

This reversible table runner is inspired by the color and pattern of the poison dart frog. Two contrasting shades of Array Wool are woven in an Overshot variation that is completely weft-faced. The tabby and pattern wefts are so densely packed that the “spots” become three-dimensional. Order a kit.

The patterns are lovely. I can’t wait to use them.

Quantity of Yarn Misleading

The directions to order 2 4 oz cones of each color was excessive. As the previous reviewer, my pattern looked more like hers, not as densely packed and not needed to be packed for a table runner. I had no problem weaving. with the yarn. But now I have 2 unopened cones of Array wool. Unfortunately, having had it more than 14 days, exchange is not allowed.

Worth the challenge!

This table runner tested and improved my weaving skills. Tension of both the warp and weft was critical, if I tamped too hard the warp threads would break, and I ended up using a bead string meant for golf to keep track of my pics. My finished product doesn't look just like the kit pictures, but I'm sure this is because I had to tamp gently. This was not a piece I could weave with anything else on my mind--focus required!
