Beginner Cotton Towels
A classic set of striped cotton towels. This is an ideal project for beginners, whether you are learning on a rigid heddle loom or a multi-shaft loom. Order a kit.
I followed this pattern for my very first weave. It was easy to follow and my towels tuned out very nice!
These are my new favorite kitchen towels. As it was my second project I was a little worried by the loose weave when it came off the loom, but after washing and drying they are thick, dense, and soft. They are super absorbent and normal kitchen stains wash out easily. My only tip is to make sure you take the time to pin before hemming by machine, as the unwashed towel fabric likes to slide around under the presser foot.
I’m a beginner weaver and this pattern is for me! I have read through it several times and it’s clearly written and understandable. When my ya ns arrived I’ll start it…can’t wait!
I modified the pattern to complete it on my 15" Cricket loom and made the warp a little longer to get three tea towels. The pattern wove up quickly, and the Beam cotton yarn was delightful to weave and very soft. I wanted to make them a little special as a gift, so I cross-stitched flower motifs on each one.
Love the pattern very easy to follow
