Beam 3/2 Organic Cotton Weaving Yarn ~ Natural

I’m so happy I explored this size yarn. I had been working with the 8/2 since I started weaving this past February. But I wanted to work with something just a bit heavier, more body let’s say. Well I’m incredibly happy I dove in. I bought a few colors in this size and it has not disappointed me!! Joanne

I must honestly say that Beam is one of the easiest yarns to work with. Each step from measuring to enjoying the finished product has few, if any problems. Occasionally I will find a knot but they are tiny and seem to have no effect on the finished fabric. I especially like using this cotton for kitchen towels and baby blankets.

I recently purchased 2 cones of Beam 3/2 in natural to supplement the cone I already had for a project.
The two new cones had yarn that appears loosely twisted and without the smooth yarn sheen of the cone I already had on hand.
I decided to warp up the towel pattern I planned anyway with the new yarn and found several weak spots in the yarn as well as spots with small bundles of yarn clinging to the yarn length. One of my warp threads broke at a weak spot as I was packing the beam and continues to be an issue.
I have used Beam 3/2 for many projects and have 8-10 colors currently on hand. I have never seen a quality issue in the past and was disappointed with these cones. In the pics attached, the two cones show my initial purchase several months ago on the left and the new purchase on the right. I also included a pic of the yarns laid out lengthwise with older at the bottom and newer at the top.
