Silk Noil Infinity Cowl
A silk noil infinity cowl that can be worn in a variety of ways. The spaced weft complements the soft, rustic texture of the silk noil and acts as a simple solution for button holes. Order a kit.
I haven't made this yet, but am looking forward to weaving it! Love Christine's patterns!
Earmarked this pattern for myself, unfortunately I am way down on the ‘to do’ list so haven’t started it yet, will get there.. soon….
This pattern and yarn makes a very soft, lightweight cowl that is very attractive.
While I love the yarn and pattern, I'm going to make a second one with the extra yarn and do a few things different. This is the first time I've woven such an open structure, so maybe I did some things wrong. It seems the instructions are contradictory. If I do the math of 1" borders then 12 repeats of 3 inches and a ~ 1/2 inch gap, I come up with about 44 inches of length not counting the fringe. Yet, the instructions say to weave for 50 inches. Turns out, mine is exactly 44.5 inches before wet finishing (it did shrink a bit to 43 inches), and my wife thinks it is too short. It also shrunk a bit in width. So, I'll do another and do 13 or even 14 repeats of the 3-inch sections and maybe make it 12" wide in the heddle. I also struggled a bit with consistent selvedges given the loose weave, but sorted that out toward the end.
The material is wonderful to weave with.
Great service, I got my order very quick and the silk noil I ordered is amazing. I will definitely be purchasing from Gist again.
