Skip Dent Plaid Wrap

 Designed by Dana Lutz

A contemporary take on plaid, reimagined with Skip Dent and spaced weft techniques to add texture and visual interest. Using Ode and Array, this cozy and remarkably soft oversized wrap weaves up quickly, and is sure to become your new favorite fall or winter accessory. 

Pattern downloads include files for both rigid heddle and shaft loom weaving. Yardage specifications and dimensions vary based upon the loom and required waste. Order a kit.

Equipment

  • Rigid heddle or 4-shaft table or floor loom
  • 47-48 heddles per shaft for 4-shaft loom
  • 10-dent reed
  • 2 boat shuttles + 4 bobbins or 4 stick shuttles

Warp: Ode Alpaca, 205-230 yds Obsidian, 185-205 yds Fawn; Array Wool, 130-145 yds Terracotta-5, 65-70 yds Cinnamon-1.

Skip Dent Wrap

I’m weaving this and it’s wonderful but I had to fudge it because the total dents including the skipped dents (264) required in the pattern exceed the 23” weaving width and in fact appear to be slightly short of the total dents in a Flip ten dent reed. Let me know if I’m misreading this.
