Four-Way Floats Towels

Designed by Karen G. Krueger

Four colors of Beam 8/2 Organic Cotton and a single pick-up stick make four distinct and beautiful towels. This project provides a fantastic opportunity to experiment with different pick-up stick set-ups and weaving sequences, and to gain a practical understanding of how warp and weft floats work in different colors and on both sides of a fabric. Order a kit.

Beautiful Patterns

These towels are beautiful to make. The only recommendation I have is to label the finished towels in the photo on the first page of the instructions so that beginning weavers such as myself can see which pattern to use for the finished product. ( e.g. towel 1 etc.)

Easy beautiful towels

I made these as a gift. I’m a beginner and the pattern was easy to follow though I threaded the first thread through a slit versus a hole so the pattern was a bit off but after wet finishing and drying you can’t tell. I also think the key is beating the weft as close as possible so the floats aren’t too lose. I plan on making more!
