Ripple Pillows

Ripple Pillows

Designed by Christine Novotny

These wool pillow shams are woven in two blocks of Monk’s Belt. The blocks vary from edge to edge in the threading, gradating across the fabric like ripples in the water. Two colors of Array Wool are held together and used as the pattern weft, creating texture and tonality that pops against the solid color plain weave (tabby) base. Order a kit.

Adaptable Kit

I used the kit as a jumping off point and made a table runner for Thanksgiving instead of pillows. I just love how it turned out!

In warm colours

I like blue ones as kit shown, but for my room I need warm colours. Easy & fun to weave.

I loved making these pillows for a wedding gift.

I will make these again very soon..I’m actually going to tie another warp on to my existing warp. I love the way the mercerized cotton shines against the flat black wool. My first project using Monks belt.
