     Citrus Towels

    Designed by Emma Rhodes, woven by Elizabeth Springett.

    A pair of striped towels woven with Duet Cotton/Linen. The colorful warp is contrasted by a bright white weft, giving the towels a sun-washed appearance. 

    Pattern downloads include files for both rigid heddle and shaft loom weaving. Yardage requirements vary based upon the projects and loom waste. Order a kit.

    Equipment

    • Rigid heddle loom or 4-shaft loom 
    • 12-dent reed
    • 1 boat shuttle + bobbin or 1 stick shuttle

    Yarn

    Warp: Duet Cotton/Linen, 50-60 yds Pearl, 155-175 yds Coral, 135-150 yds Sun.

    Weft: Duet Cotton/Linen, 265 yds Pearl.

    So sweet!

    This was my first time weaving with a linen blend, and I really enjoyed it. The fabric is so soft and drapey and absorbant. I wove four on one warp per the instructions. They ended up a little bit smaller than the pattern specified (probably my error) but very useful nonetheless. The colors were something I wouldn’t have been able to pick on my own, but are quite lovely. Thanks Gist!

    Simple and satisfying

    Linen blend yarn was a bit of a challenge for this relative beginner but the pattern is super simple and worked up really quickly. I ended up immediately making more.
