    Double Width Blanket

    Designed by Elizabeth Springett.

    This soft and colorful organic cotton blanket is woven as Doublewidth cloth–a technique that allows you to weave double the width of your loom. Two 25” wide layers are woven at the same time, connected on one side. The blanket is unfolded once it is off the loom, twice the width it was woven. Please note that this pattern does not come with a .wif file as double width cloth cannot be accurately conveyed in a drawdown. Order a kit.

    • 4-shaft loom
    • 125 heddles per shaft
    • 10-dent reed
    • 1 boat shuttle + bobbin
    • Fishing line for floating selvedges

    Warp: Beam 3/2 Organic Cotton, 595 yds Pistachio, 575 yds Jade, 30 yds Natural.

    Weft: Beam 3/2 Organic Cotton, 860 yds Natural.

    Love to learn

    This was so cool to weave. Only problem I had was that the top layer was tight and the bottom layer would get loose the longer I wove. If I wasn’t paying attention some strings wouldn’t weave right. But I loved the end product.
