Skip Dent Scarf
A light and airy scarf. The subtle spaces in the warp come from a simple technique called skip dent, in which a dent or two is skipped throughout the reed as you are threading. Order a kit.
The skips were very visible on the loom but barely visible after finishing. If I make it again I’d leave more space between the dents or let the scarf soak without agitating. That said, I love my scarf. The rust color in the Duet yarn is so beautiful and the width and length are perfect for a summer scarf.
Unfortunately I haven't had a chance to start this project, have to finish my previous project first.
Great source for inspiration. Check back often.
I am going to make a light weight scarf for my son who lives in CA. I think this technique will make it light and airy.
I have made this scarf multiple times using Duet. Easy weave, great summer scarf.
