Three Column Lace Scarf

Designed by Christine Jablonski

This cozy monochromatic scarf is woven with just one cone of our Ode alpaca yarn, featuring a reversible warp and weft float lace pattern. Beginner friendly and gorgeous

I am a beginner RHL weaver and this was my first pick up stick pattern. I used a 4/4 cotton from my local yarn store on a 10 dent reed with my 15” Cricket. It was really fun to weave and came out so nice! I made two and gave one to my mom as a gift. Instructions are super clear. Watching a Kelly Casanova video about inserting pick up sticks helped me visualize the process as a newbie. Highly recommend!

Measuring care needed

Be very careful in measuring your warp length with this pattern. I allowed an extra 4 inches for warp and I ran out of yarn for weft with about 6 inches of scarf length remaining. I thought I had 50 yards extra but I did not.

Pickup stick fun

Pattern was easy to follow. Using two pickup sticks was not hard given the weaving set up. I finished one scarf and will probably weave this pattern again.

Absolutely beautiful!

What a lovely, satisfying pattern! I’ve made two scarves, using a cotton silk yarn, great drape! Both recipients loved them.

LOVE this pattern

Once I got the hang of the sequence, it was a breeze to weave. And it's a beautiful pattern, different on each side. Of course, Ode alpaca makes it super soft and cozy.
