Rigid Heddle Skill Builder #6: Warp to Wear

You can now experience the sixth installment of the Rigid Heddle Skill Builder series as a stand-alone purchase! Designed by Sedona Rigsby, this collection is an invitation to take your weaving from Warp to Wear. With these three projects, you'll learn approachable construction techniques to turn handwoven yardage into garments. Sedona will walk you through cutting and joining your fabric using straightforward hand-sewing and basic machine techniques. By the end of this series, you’ll feel equipped to transform your own handwoven projects into simple, wearable pieces.

Sewing is not necessarily required, and if you prefer, each project includes no-sew variations. The designs were created with universality and flexibility in mind, and are intended to work across many bodies as-is.

This collection was originally published as a part of our Rigid Heddle Skill Builder Subscription Box series. Please note, this listing is for the Warp to Wear collection only—if you'd like to learn more about the subscription, you can do so here

FAQ

What type of equipment do I need for this?

You will need a 24" (weaving width) rigid heddle loom, 10 and 12-12.5 dent heddles, and stick shuttles or boat shuttles and bobbins.

If I have a 15-20" rigid heddle loom, can I do these projects?

Projects will vary in width, with some requiring up to 24" of weaving width and some requiring less. We aren't able to provide instructions for altering each pattern individually, but if you would like to try and downsize them yourself, you're welcome to give it a go! We have general instructions for resizing patterns here.

Can I select different colors?

No, we’ve carefully planned our inventory for the year and cannot accommodate multiple colorway options.

Can I purchase only the patterns?

No, these patterns are only available as part of the full kit purchase.

What skills do I need to complete these patterns?

This collection is intended for weavers with a few projects under their belt. While previous sewing experience is helpful, it is not necessary.
