 Sunset Towels

Designed by Sarah Resnick

The Sunset Towels have been a customer favorite since they were first published in the January/February 2019 issue of Handwoven Magazine. Re-introduced woven with Beam 8/2 Organic Cotton in the warp and weft, we were tempted to rename them the Sunny Disposition Towels because they exude pure joy on the loom and in your kitchen. As with the original, feel free to follow the warp color order exactly, or play at your warping reel or board to develop your own gradations.

My Go To Pattern

I've woven this pattern several times over the years. It is so much fun and last time I did a clasped weft over the pattern. So many ways to change this pattern but keep it the same. I used cotton warp and cotton/linen weft. One had a weft of linen (from a guild sale).

Love this towel pattern

Love the design and colors of this towel pattern. Many other color possibilities. Pattern is clearly written. I found it easy to follow.

Clearly written instructions

It's a huge warp but worth the extra work if you like long weaving projects. I followed Gist instructions for the first two towels but did my own thing on the third. Four more to go!

I am almost finished with the project on my loom and am looking forward to getting these started!
