Open Window Scarf
Designed by Amanda WoodThis monochromatic scarf is woven in plain weave using a pick-up stick to create pattern with warp and weft floats. The Windowpane design throughout the scarf resembles lace and adds to the airy texture of the cloth. Designed with small rigid heddle looms in mind, this project is under 10” wide and only requires one cone of Duet Cotton/Linen to complete. Order a kit.
I love this pattern! It took me a couple test pieces to get the hang of the float pattern but once I had it, it went smoothly. I wove on a rigid heddle loom.
This pattern is easy to follow. Thanks
This was a fun project to weave, with a little extra detail using a pick-up stick. It is an airy weave, but it should be good for a summer scarf.
I used the yellow Duet yarn and it looks lovely. A reasonably easy project.
The lace pattern framed in plain weave makes this scarf special. It’s not difficult to weave, and could be doubled in width to make a larger scarf or shawl. I love the color of the shawl as woven, and I can visualize it woven in other colors as well. My loom is an 8 shaft floor loom, and the pattern was simple to adapt to it.
