Mixed Twill Scarf-

As always with Gist Yarn, a lovely and easy process selecting a pattern and tempting yarn- Someone posted photos of their final product which gave me a whole new idea about what colors to choose- I have never used a table loom but Christine has already been helpful so am not too worried- I have used the Mallo before and was very satisfied with the feel of it-

Mallo cotton slub weaving yarn

I am a new weaver and decided to try this yarn. So glad I did. It was easy to weave with with a beautiful drape.

My go to yarn!

Love this yarn! For warp and weft, it's sturdy but soft and the little nubblies make for some wonderful texture. Especially like using it as weft w 8/2 cotton warp. Adds a bit of heft to the towels (which my friends use as mats because "they're too pretty to use as a towel" they say!). Customer service at GIST is always great.

Softly Slubby

I really enjoyed weaving with this yarn! I enjoyed the soft slubby texture. I used the Mallo Cotton as warp and used the Italian Silk Noil as weft in an open tabby weave. The fabric was soft and drapey after wet finishing.

Mixed emotions

This is beautiful cotton yarn. I have not used the steel gray color yet but have used other colors in the Mallo line. I weave on a Rigid Heddle loom and I was unable to use a 12 dent reed and had difficulty using a 10 dent reed because the slub would catch and break when passing through "holes". I am a beginner weaver and the warp tension may have been too tight?? The quality of the yarn is excellent. Looking forward to try again with the steel gray.
