Plain weave is anything but plain when woven in Mallo. The thick-and-thin nature of this cotton slub creates an elegant, delicate texture, even in the simplest of weaves. Slightly thicker than many weaving yarns, Mallo weaves up quickly on both rigid heddle and multi-shaft looms. Sturdy, soft, and absorbent, Mallo is perfect for towels, napkins, and washcloths as well as lightweight blankets, scarves, and shawls.
The mallo yarn is great for added texture
I purchased a cone of Mallo along with a beginning weaving pattern from Gist and let me tell you -- the slub texture made my slightly wonky, plain weave first project look like something I actually want to wear! (lol) I will absolutely be using this yarn again.
Mallo is such as great yarn to work wirh. I just finished the Color & Weave scarf from Liz Gibson's Weave Along and it is beautiful. I have made napkins, placemats and towels in the past as well. Mallo is one of my favorite yarns.
Love the texture of this yarn. Easy to work with. So soft, absorbent and beautiful.
