i am obsessed with mallo yarn! strong enough for a tensioned warp and washes beautifully. makes nice absorbent towels and fabulous chunky napkins.i think i might need to order in bulk, ha! shown in pics: equinox napkins and viken trivets.
It’s really yellow! This yarn is a slub, remember that when you order. Yet it is easy enough to work with and is actually beautiful on the loom and in the weave. Those towels are just a splash of sunshine in the kitchen where they live. (Yes, they were gifted.)
I just had my first grandbaby this month. To celebrate his arrival I wove two baby blankets. Brassard cotton in sage for the warp and Frost Mallo weft and a bit of Fir Mallo for accent. Lovely cotton yarn. Very soft and beautiful.
Little bit of sunshine. Lovely yarn
gist's mallo yarn is awesome! i absolutely love the weight, texture and absorbency for kitchen towels as well as napkins. i weave with a variety of yarns but always come back to mallo. gist offers excellent customer service, too. recently, in mid-project, i realized i needed more yarn so placed an order around midnight on a friday and received it on wednesday. how did they know i couldn't finish without it?!? I really enjoy the free and purchasable patterns. i have an 8 shaft but enjoy going back, periodically, to basics with gist's 4 shaft patterns. i'm attaching some pics of the eclipse napkins. i'll be a customer for as long as these hands can throw a shuttle :)
