 Huck Lace Rigid Heddle Placemats

This placemat set woven with Beam 8/2 Organic Cotton and Duet Cotton/Linen elevates any tablescape with a sweet huck motif created with one pick-up stick and a heddle rod. Weave four placemats or a longer, continuous length for a runner. Order a kit.

Equipment

  • Rigid heddle loom
  • 12-dent reed
  • 1 boat shuttle + bobbin or 1 stick shuttle
  • 1-2 pick-up sticks, 21 string heddles and heddle rod

Yarn

Warp: Beam 8/2 Organic Cotton, 1,050 yds Licorice.

Weft: Duet Cotton/Linen, 479 yds Dune.

Weaving With Ambrosia
Different fibers

Super easy to follow I used different fiber to get a feel for it I had some bamboo on hand which is about a 10epi and both colors are the same fiber but even with those changes the pattered shows stunningly and has a textured feel. It’s still on the loom I know it may change but I’m in love.

This was a fun project to weave. The instructions were great and easy to follow. I've wanted to give huck lace a try and this was a great project to start me off!

Beautiful Texture
