Duet Cotton / Linen Weaving Yarn ~ Dusk

$ 23.00 USD

Duet - GIST's first line of weaving yarn. Dusk is a deep midnight blue.

2 slubby plies of US grown cotton + 1 ply of European tow linen. A beautiful, textured yarn designed especially for weavers. Strong enough for warp, soft enough to wear next to skin, and hardy enough for kitchen towels.  Truly a versatile yarn that we hope will become a beloved staple on your loom for many kinds of projects. Comes on ¼ lb. (4 oz) cones with 600 yards per cone.

    55% linen / 45% cotton. 2,390 ypp. Suitable for warp and weft, on rigid heddle, table, and floor looms. Recommended sett of 12-16 epi. Machine wash on cool. Air dry or machine dry (air drying preserves the life of linen longer). Linen gets a softer and lovelier hand with each washing.

    Spun and dyed in North Carolina.

    skip dent happiness

    I bought the kit to do a skip dent scarf. New technique for me. Used Kircher RHL. Came out beautifully. Duet was easy to use/ thread reed, even with those small holes on Kircher reed. I bought more Duet after that. I used Cerise. So bright and delightful.

    Nice Yarn

    This is Duet, a cotton/linen blend, in a color they call Santorini. It's a beautiful color, and should work up well on the loom. I like the feel of it even before it is wet-finished, and it will make wonderful towels for my kitchen! Can't wait to use it!!

    Duet cotton

    I'm a new weaver and I loved this fiber. Made a scarf with it and it turned out very well. Will use it again.

    Wet finishes like magic

    Used Duet for a dish towel project (Kaleidoscope, from WEBS). Wet finishing was the magic wand that turned the fiber into the most beautiful, perfect fabric. A single hot water laundering with a tiny bit of fabric softener was all it took. No bleeding at all.

    4th project!

    Quite loving Duet!! I like the slight variation, colors and hand. Very happy with completed projects so far, and have a couple more in the on deck circle. Thanks!
