Beam 8/2 is a workhorse yarn you’ll reach for again and again, ideal for towels, table linens and lightweight scarves or shawls. It is wonderful for traditional twill structures and as the ground and tabby yarn in overshot when paired with Beam 3/2 or 3/4.

Beam 8/2 cotton is one of my favorites to use with my rigid heddle loom. I generally double it in the warp with a sett of 10 epi. With doubled weft, I get 11 epi and 11 ppi in a plain weave after finishing, which makes a good, hefty towel.
This particular color, licorice, may look dull in a photo, but it’s quite lovely when combined with one or more other colors. It’s not a true black, but a very dark gray. It makes a particularly bold statement when used with natural.

Nice and soft yarn. Perfect for towels. I weave all my towels with this yarn.

4 stars because I had a section that kept breaking while winding on a bobbin, I had to hand wind it, tension was not to tight yet kept breaking, other then that it wove up beautifully and so far no more issues winding

I like using this 8/2 in weaving. It’s nice and strong. I haven’t run across knots either.
