Dwella Rug Wool was developed around a sense of warmth, comfort, and grounding associated with our homes and most cherished spaces. Historically, rugs have functioned as insulation on floors and walls in cold climates, as tent flaps for nomadic tribes, and even as portable bedding and seating. These woven (or knotted) pieces that we do not wear, still touch and protect us. In creating Dwella, we strove for the perfect combination of pleasant in the hands, delightful on the loom, and substantial enough to create an heirloom piece.
Dwella is a sturdy 3-ply wool sourced from a blend of New Zealand and English Romney sheep, spun and dyed in small batches in North Carolina. It is available in 24 colors on 4 oz balls with 85-93 yards per ball.
SHOP DWELLADwella’s 24 colors are distilled from Array’s beloved 100+ shades and hues — a carefully curated selection that captures the most essential and versatile hues for rug weaving. Think sun-warmed ochres, deep midnight indigo, fresh forest and meadow greens, and brick reds that echo ancient textiles and weathered clay. Soft, luminous tints bring lightness and breath to your work, while rich charcoal, cream, and natural greys ground the palette with timeless sophistication.
Dwella was designed to be woven into items meant to be lived with, loved, and used over and over again (kind of like that favorite sweater you always reach for). It will make beautiful runners, rugs, wall hangings, coasters and trivets, and other home items that ground your space.

"Dwella is a beautiful reflective yarn. It is firm enough for rug-weight textiles and has a gorgeous sheen to it. It is easy to work with in tapestry techniques and comes in color choices for any project. I’ve woven several table textiles with it now and I am looking forward to using it for many new tapestry projects soon."
"I received six skeins of Gist’s Dwella yarn and it does not disappoint. It was very impressive in the skein but once you start weaving with it the magic really happens. The texture, strength, brightness, and color are unparalleled. I just found my new go-to tapestry/rug yarn!"
