Explore the creative potential of 8 shafts! This box offers a similar experience to the Rigid Heddle Skill Builder, playing with various adaptations of a technique over several related projects. Each quarter, a new designer will present three projects exploring a technique or theme in depth, all delivered in one shipment. Over the course of a year you will receive 12 projects in 4 shipments from 4 designers.

Christine Jablonski has designed the first box, Block Party, around the additional design blocks available with 8-shafts. Inspired by several beloved 4-shaft patterns from the Gist archive, Block Party explores numerous motifs across Bronson Lace, M’s and O’s, and Turned Twill. The projects also encourage you to experiment with multiple tie-ups and treadlings to expand your design and prowess further.

Each box/quarter will include:

• Three patterns, each detailed with extensive step-by-step instructions and process photos
• Enough yarn to weave all three projects (Gist in-house lines: Array, Beam, Duet, Mallo, Ode, Sero, Dwella)
• Access to an exclusive Facebook group so you can connect with other weavers working on the projects 
• Live Q&A with designers once per quarter

In addition to being Gist Yarn’s Director of Content and Customer Experience, Christine Jablonski is a weaver and exhibiting fiber artist whose work has been shown in New England galleries and is held in corporate and private collections across the country. She is a frequent contributor to Little Looms and Handwoven magazines, and the author of SoulSpace Notes, a monthly column mostly on weaving, sometimes art, dogs, and snacks.
