Designed by Amanda WoodThis monochromatic scarf is woven in plain weave using a pick-up stick to create pattern with warp and weft floats. The Windowpane design throughout the scarf resembles lace and adds to the airy texture of the cloth. Designed with small rigid heddle looms in mind, this project is under 10” wide and only requires one cone of Duet Cotton/Linen to complete. Order a kit.

I enjoyed making this scarf after I figured out the pick up stick pattern. (Read all directions through to end before starting!) Gist was helpful and responsive when I called with questions. I don’t think the scarf is long enough. Also it doesn’t drape well. The fringe was a tangled mess after finishing in the washing machine. All in all I’m not sure this scarf will ever be worn.

I love this pattern! It took me a couple test pieces to get the hang of the float pattern but once I had it, it went smoothly. I wove on a rigid heddle loom.

This was a fun project to weave, with a little extra detail using a pick-up stick. It is an airy weave, but it should be good for a summer scarf.

I used the yellow Duet yarn and it looks lovely. A reasonably easy project.
