 Color-and-Weave Placemats

A colorful set of placemats to brighten your table. This Color-and-Weave project gives you four placemat design variations, simply by changing the weft color order. Order a kit.

Pattern download includes files for both rigid heddle and shaft loom weaving. Yardage requirements vary based upon loom and waste.

Equipment

  • Rigid heddle or 4-shaft or 8-shaft loom 
  • 10-dent reed
  • 38 heddles per shaft for 4-shaft loom
  • 19 heddles per shaft for 8-shaft loom
  • 2 boat shuttles + bobbins or 2 stick shuttles

Yarn

Warp: Beam 3/2 Organic Cotton, 306-326 yds Crocus, 150-160 yds Sage.

Weft: Beam 3/2 Organic Cotton, 180 yds Crocus, 180 yds Sage.

Great looking

I used leftover Sugar and cream to make these in blue and white. Easy weaving and nice to be able to change up the design with the different pattern options.

Placemats

I’m using this pattern to make Placemats which I have on my RHL now. I chose a 100 cotton warp and weft in red white and blue. Measurements are very accurate and I’m very pleased so far.
