Mallo was such an easy double wide weave on my 4 shaft loom. I used Mariah Gaar’s pattern for this blanket and had such fun weaving it!
This was a lovely yarn to work with for the Rya Pillow. I look forward to using it in a towel project I have planned.
this yarn is the most fine for weaving I have evcer used. I LOVE THE "SLUBBY "TEXTURE it creates, and when washed up at finishing, the threads seem to coe together as would linen
I dearly appreciate everything I’ve experienced and purchased through Gist Yarn. The Women of Gist have made every purchase unique and special, as if they are working with a dear friend. From the purchase of my first rigid heddle loom with Emma, on the phone, to my last order of Mallo and Duet with Christine, I’ve been made to feel as if I matter and am important. I’ve been treated regally and with great good humor, something I deeply appreciate, with each transaction. I’ve asked questions about fibers, techniques, warping and received assistance with turning directions for floor loom patterns into ones for rigid heddle looms.
I’ve purchased fibers that are appropriate for my rigid heddle loom and continue to love them all. They are easy to experiment with and are forgiving of a novice rigid heddle weaver. Even my mistakes somehow look part of the piece in such a good way. The colors range from practically iridescent to deep and multilayered. They all work well together so it seems impossible to concoct a combination that won’t be lovely after weaving. Mallo and Duet are durable, wash well, hold their color and are beautiful workhorses for me in my home. I am not a particularly good weaver but I love color and durability. These fibers do not disappoint.
I bought this yarn in three colors and have now used two of them to weave a decorative colors for a throw pillow. I am very pleased with how easy it wove and how good it looked when completed. I would use it again and plan to order it in more colors.
