This lofty, luxurious yarn blooms into spectacularly soft scarves and shawls when wet-finished, and can be used with Array for home decor overshot projects or blankets and large garments that may require a bit of structure.

Wonderful Fiber

I love working with Ode. It is a wonderful fiber to weave and wear. I hand wash then either drape over several lines or throw it in the dryer to dry. Air drying provides a finish that is close to the original weave. Machine drying gives a fluffier finish. I gave my youngest child and her family Ode scarves for Christmas. They thought that I purchased them. When I explained that they were handmade, they were highly impressed. The finished produce always looks polished and classy. I highly recommend this for weavers of any skill level. Beginners need to keep in mind that twills drape softer and freer than plain weave, but both are nice. This is a picture of one of the scarves before I wet finished it. I air dried it and it looks the same now that it is finished.

Always my first choice!

I absolutely love this alpaca yarn. It weaves up beautifully and feels wonderful against your skin. The cones are easy to deal with and the price is reasonable. It’s always my first choice for weaving shawls and ruanas. I just wish there were more color choices.

Soft and strong!

This alpaca is a dream to work with! I was afraid that a couple of my edge warp threads would break since they were tighter, but the yarn held beautifully. I also found that this yarn is comparable in price to alpaca knitting yarns for the same quantity, but this is better quality. The sheds were clean since this yarn is not hairy like other alpacas may be.

Buttery soft!

I’ve used the Ode yarn for warp for several shawl projects and I’m delighted with the colors and the super soft hand.
