Plain weave is anything but plain when woven in Mallo. The thick-and-thin nature of this cotton slub creates an elegant, delicate texture, even in the simplest of weaves. Slightly thicker than many weaving yarns, Mallo weaves up quickly on both rigid heddle and multi-shaft looms. Sturdy, soft, and absorbent, Mallo is perfect for towels, napkins, and washcloths as well as lightweight blankets, scarves, and shawls.
Mallo is a breeze to weave with, and the soft, slub texture is unlike any other yarn I’ve ever used. Like everyone else, I vote for more colors, please!

This yarn produces a beautifully nuanced product. Warping and weaving with a single strand produces a delicate, yet interestingly complex, fabric. Doubled up, it produces a sturdy textile that screams “handmade”. Hands down, this is my favorite weaving yarn.
I love this yarn. I’ve used it for my last two projects. It weaves up quickly and creates the most incredible texture. I so wish it came in more colors. I have a vision of a project using a camel color and maybe eggplant (close to the ink color). I’d also love to see mustard and more blues and pink. Otherwise, this is an excellent product!
