Plain weave is anything but plain when woven in Mallo. The thick-and-thin nature of this cotton slub creates an elegant, delicate texture, even in the simplest of weaves. Slightly thicker than many weaving yarns, Mallo weaves up quickly on both rigid heddle and multi-shaft looms. This is by far the easiest "weaving" yarn that I have found. It floats smoothly through the heddle and the multi-texture final woven appearance is great. Wonderful product and I will use more!
I have \been a "beginner" weaver for awhile and I am trying different yarns for warp and weft. I bought the scrarf kit to try the cotton Mayo and LOVE THE YARN. It wove up for easily - it did not fray or pull......strong and easy to work with as a weft or warp. I will be using it again. THANKS for a nice introduction to the yarn.
I used Mallo and Beam yarns for my first weaving and the tea towels, a Gist free pattern, are quite satisfactory. They were easy to warp and the weaving was fun.
