Mallo Cotton Slub Weaving Yarn ~ Coal

Add to your order

Plain weave is anything but plain when woven in Mallo. The thick-and-thin nature of this cotton slub creates an elegant, delicate texture, even in the simplest of weaves. Slightly thicker than many weaving yarns, Mallo weaves up quickly on both rigid heddle and multi-shaft looms. Sturdy, soft, and absorbent, Mallo is perfect for towels, napkins, and washcloths as well as lightweight blankets, scarves, and shawls.

Fabulous yarn!

I love the thick & thin nature of Mallo cotton yarn and use it as warp and weft on my rigid heddle loom. The colors posted are true. At 750 yards per 8 oz cone, it's very affordable. You can't go wrong using Gist yarn...well you can go wrong, but it won't be that fault of the yarn!

Great for novice weavers

I used Mallo in my introductory rigid heddle workshop with some Caterpillar cotton for warp stripes. It’s a great yarn for beginners. Their scarves had beautiful texture built in, we had no warp breaks, and it worked in 7.5, 8 and 10 dent reeds very well. Hemstitch was easy and fringe could be left as is or twisted.
