Duet Cotton / Linen Weaving Yarn ~ Pear

Duet combines the ease of weaving with cotton with the sheen and hand of linen. The subtle variegation in the linen adds a slightly marbled visual element to projects. Buttery and smooth on a multi-shaft loom, this yarn is also a wonderful introduction to linen for rigid heddle weavers who have a few projects under their belts. Duet weaves into beautiful summer scarves and shawls, as well as heirloom-quality towels and dining linens that soften and improve over time.

Duet cotton/linen

I’m using it for warp and the secondary weft in an overshot scarf. It’s easy to,work with and I’m pleased with the outcome

A yarn that adds interest/depth to your project

Duet is great- I have all the colors and keep them on hand. It is not the strongest yarn; it has broken for me when used as warp a couple times. Best used as weft. However the colors are interesting, with the variation giving depth to the weave. It is great used in towels, very absorbent but with the cotton softening the linen. Works great with Mallo.

Great Color & Value

At 600 yards for $28, this cotton & linen blend with variegated color is a terrific value. I use it on my rigid heddle loom as a warp & as weft. 👍👍

Beautiful yarn

I’m almost done with the scarf using the Duet. So easy to weave with and the combination is cotton and linen gives it a beautiful feel.

weaving with Duet

Weaving with Duet can be a bit tricky as the tension can change as you go along. That said, this particular yarn was fine and caused no issues. I’ve had other colors of Duet break in the warp and some “get too loose” but this warped and wove with no issues.
