Overshot Rigid Heddle Towels
A set of cotton and linen towels woven using a pick-up stick and a supplementary weft to create weft floats. Order a kit.
I am a weaver of about a year and just finished this project. I chose to make it stripes as opposed to “plaid.” My question—I did 4 towels and the first 2 look great on front and back. The third, and more so the fourth have floats on the back. Curious about what changed to make this happen.
These towels are quickly becoming my favorite to weave. They look technical but are extremely easy to weave. The pattern sequence is very easy to remember even for my old mind. I will be gifting these in all different color combinations.
Thank you for this wonderful pattern.
I absolutely love these towels and working with Mallo yarns. I’ve woven 12 towels and plan to gift 9 of them to my fellow stitchers. Our stitch group meets every two weeks and I plan to wrap them up for our 2021 Christmas exchange. I am the only weaver in our group so the ladies like to receive a handwoven gift. Who wouldn’t?
Thanks for this great easy to understand pattern!
I am new to weaving and am using a 32” Flip Ridged Heddle Loom. Being new at weaving I look for patterns that are specific and easy to understand and that give me room to expand my craft. I found this pattern had all the elements I need to move me forward in my weaving experience.
