Duet Cotton / Linen Weaving Yarn ~ Anchor

Duet combines the ease of weaving with cotton with the sheen and hand of linen. The subtle variegation in the linen adds a slightly marbled visual element to projects. Buttery and smooth on a multi-shaft loom, this yarn is also a wonderful introduction to linen for rigid heddle weavers who have a few projects under their belts. Duet weaves into beautiful summer scarves and shawls, as well as heirloom-quality towels and dining linens that soften and improve over time.

  • 4oz cones / 600 yds
  • Size: similar to 5/2; 2,390 yds per pound.
  • Suggested EPI: 12-16 for rigid heddle and multi-shaft looms.
  • Care: hand or machine wash in cool water, tumble dry low or air-dry.

Great yarn for placemats

I bought this yarn as part of a kit to make placemats. I had not used Duet before. It was great to work with and made nice textured placemats. I will be buying more of this yarn.

Weaves easy enough but…

Was easy to warp and weave but finished towels, even after machine washing and drying were very rough! The pattern, Citrus towels, called for a 12dent reed and 12 poi which I did. I used a plain weave on one and the other was a point weave. They still came out very rough and not something I would give away! I’ll go back to my 8/2 cotton towels that always come out beautifully. This was a Very expensive disaster!

I love this Pear Cotton, but Gist Yarn is a dream company to work with: easy ordering, fast shipping, fair prices, excellent customer service (on the very few times I have needed to text/email/or call.

Rustic and Classy All in One

I really like weaving with this linen cotton blend. Linen has a reputation for being difficult to warp, no problem warping one of my little looms with Duet. So far I have only used it to make gift towels for friends and relatives. They all love the towels and want more! My only suggestion is I would like to see a few more green shades soon!
