Duet combines the ease of weaving with cotton with the sheen and hand of linen. The subtle variegation in the linen adds a slightly marbled visual element to projects. Buttery and smooth on a multi-shaft loom, this yarn is also a wonderful introduction to linen for rigid heddle weavers who have a few projects under their belts. Duet weaves into beautiful summer scarves and shawls, as well as heirloom-quality towels and dining linens that soften and improve over time.
I used Santorini to make the skip dent scarf. The color is gorgeous. However, I would not use this yarn exclusively in a scarf. It is very stiff (which made for great slaying). I've steam ironed after finishing it as others have suggested and it is still stiff. I have another gist pattern where this yarn is used (rhythm) and I'm afraid to use it as it is so anti-drape. I would use this in placements, though. Again, vibrant color.
Beautiful yarn - a bit challenging to work with though.
The Duet cotton / linen is easy to weave with. The colors are vibrant. It is durable and the results are really nice. I like the Storm shade. It has made my projects look beautiful.
Love this yarn! One of my go to’s for towels. It’s a great yarn addition for a little texture.
The yarns are both vibrant and wonderful to weave with. I substituted pistachio in place of the yellow.
Finished them up last night.
The only challenge for me was threading the heddles. One needs to pay attention. The instructions are clear. I have photos to show off!
I have printed cloth napkins to go with the placemats. Lovely together.
Thanks!
