Rhythm Scarf
Designed by Yun-Hsuan ChangThis lightweight, all seasons scarf is woven with a combination of Duet Cotton/Linen and Mallo Cotton Slub. The variations in the texture of the yarns add a little something extra to the simple Plain Weave structure. It is suitable for beginners to weave on a rigid heddle loom (or multi-shaft loom) while playing with the rhythm of colorful stripes. Order a kit.
I bought the pattern because I loved the colors and knew it would be perfect for my older niece. I quickly decided to make another colorway for my younger niece. As soon as I had completed the first scarf, I knew I had found the Christmas gift makes for friends and family. I ended up ordering quite a few more colors to complete those using what everyone would like. In some cases, I exchanged the Mallo for Duet due to colors I wanted to use. All in all, I made 10 scarves! Loved the pattern. It was definitely a great pattern for even beginners. I used the recommended dent sizing. The yarn fulled quite a bit, so definitely left space and did not beat very much. Many compliments and people loved that they are cotton/linen, soft and not too warm to wear all day long. Just a few of the finals.
Very happy with this project. Used 10 dent reed on 4 shaft loom. Lovely yarn! Would use again.
Love this pattern for a spring scarf. Weaves up fast and beautiful. I wasn’t sure about the 8 dent heddle but the fabric turned out really nice and had a wonderful drape.
I just finished weaving the Rhythm Scarf using Mallo Lichen and Icicle and Duet Dusk-it is beautiful! It was so much fun to weave, directions were easy to follow, and the Mallo yarn was lovely to work with. It is soft, has a nice drape, and washed beautifully. I loved this scarf so much that I ordered the yarn in Mallo Steel and Natural and Duet Sun. The yarn arrived today, very fast, and I can't wait to get started weaving this scarf again!
I can't overstate just how beautiful this scarf is. I actually used a 10 dent heddle on my 4 harness loom and it turned out beautifully. Kudos to the designer and to Gist for the beautiful Mallo and Duet yarns.
