Ode is a 4/9 yarn, spun in Peru from 100% baby alpaca. It is dyed in subtle, melange shades that bring depth to your weaving. 

  • Approximately 1,118 yards per lb.
  • 8.8 oz cones (615 yards)
  • Excellent for both rigid heddle and multi-shaft weavers. 
  • Recommended sett of 8-12 epi

Hand wash cool with a gentle soap, and lay flat to dry.

Love this yarn!!

I love Ode Alpaca yarn and cream is my favorite color. It pairs well with just about any other color. I recently completed the Dashes, Dots and Stripes pattern using cream as one of the colors. It looks fantastic.

Wonderful yarn

I made a wrap for my daughter from this yarn, different color, for warp and weft. It worked up beautifully. Wonderfuly soft and so far, sturdy. She loves the natural fibers.

Oh so soft but strong

I have been using the Ode baby alpaca from Gist for months now as warp for my handwoven shawls - the colors are beautiful and I weaves a very soft fabric, plus no broken threads! Love it and will keep buying!

Ode Alpaca is a joy to weave with. It fulls into the most beautiful, soft fabric with a wonderful drape. It definitely makes a statement piece! Love the dark gray Shadow mixed with almost any other color.
