Mountain Meadow Wool creates yarn that sings with the heart and soul of the region where it is produced, and anything you weave with it will shine with that love.
The wool for the fingering weight yarn we carry comes from sheep are grown under the careful stewardship of the Camino family, who have been operating their ranch for four generations. The Caminos raise their premium Rambouillet lambs on the lush pastures and wide open spaces of northern Wyoming, and the care and dedication they show to their land and their animals is clearly evident in the quality of their fiber.
The wool is spun into yarn at Mountain Meadow Mill in Buffalo, Wyoming, a woman-owned fiber mill committed to revitalizing the American wool industry through eco-friendly operations and fair prices for ranchers. They use vegetable-based spinning oil that results in soft, gorgeously textured yarns that highlight the unique qualities of wool grown in the American West.
