Ode is melange-dyed, where different colors and shades are blended together, creating a rich, unique hue that imparts depth to your weaving. A generous sett and light touch when weaving means projects weave up quickly on both rigid heddle and multi-shaft looms. This lofty, luxurious yarn blooms into spectacularly soft scarves and shawls when wet-finished, and can be used with Array for home decor overshot projects or blankets and large garments that may require a bit of structure.
This alpaca is a dream to work with! I was afraid that a couple of my edge warp threads would break since they were tighter, but the yarn held beautifully. I also found that this yarn is comparable in price to alpaca knitting yarns for the same quantity, but this is better quality. The sheds were clean since this yarn is not hairy like other alpacas may be.
Loved this yarn! So easy to weave with.
I’ve used the Ode yarn for warp for several shawl projects and I’m delighted with the colors and the super soft hand.
The alpaca is so soft and weaves like a dream
I used this yarn in a project. Even in cold water with vinegar, it faded significantly and bled into the cream colored yarn in the project. Very disappointing.
Update: After drying, the cream did return to its original color. However, the peacock continued to lose dye through multiple rinses.
