Plain weave is anything but plain when woven in Mallo. The thick-and-thin nature of this cotton slub creates an elegant, delicate texture, even in the simplest of weaves. Slightly thicker than many weaving yarns, Mallo weaves up quickly on both rigid heddle and multi-shaft looms. Sturdy, soft, and absorbent, Mallo is perfect for towels, napkins, and washcloths as well as lightweight blankets, scarves, and shawls.
I love this yarn. I’ve used it for my last two projects. It weaves up quickly and creates the most incredible texture. I so wish it came in more colors. I have a vision of a project using a camel color and maybe eggplant (close to the ink color). I’d also love to see mustard and more blues and pink. Otherwise, this is an excellent product!
This yarn creates the most beautiful fabric, even if you just do tabby, It is soft and has wonderful drape. Just wish there were more colors.
No matter what I weave with cotton slub it comes out looking amazing!!
I made a scarf using Emma Rhodes' pattern for the Textured Scarf, and it is one of my favorite weaves. I'm planning on buying other colors and making some napkins (as well as another scarf - this time it will be for me.)
