Beginner Cotton Towels

A classic set of striped cotton towels. This is an ideal project for beginners, whether you are learning on a rigid heddle loom or a multi-shaft loom. Order a kit.

Equipment

Rigid heddle loom (Read about adapting rigid heddle patterns for multi-shaft looms here.)
12 or 12.5-dent reed
1 boat shuttle + bobbin or stick shuttle

Warp: Beam 3/2 Organic Cotton, 360 yds Natural, 60 yds Lemon, 120 yds Dandelion.

Weft: Beam 3/2 Organic Cotton, 140 yds Lemon, 140 yds Dandelion.

I’m a new weaver and love this pattern .

These towels are very easy to make, and it was fun to play around with the diff colors to create my own colorway.

Fun second project

This was my second kit from Gist. This was a great project for this beginner. I think I'll order some of the other colors and make a set for each of my daughters kitchens.

I haven’t started this pattern yet but the instructions look clear. I enjoyed shopping at Gist.

Inspiring

I played with the pattern for these towels using variegated cotton yarn. The pattern was a great guide that I'm going to definately use again.
