Alpaca Weaving Yarn ~ Whole Wheat
$ 26.00 USD $ 23.40 USD
An pale brown alpaca weaving yarn the color of Saturday mornings: whole wheat toast, milk in your tea, a friend you can always depend on.
A cone of this weaving yarn is exactly what you're looking for when you're looking for alpaca: super soft, cushy, and warm. I source this yarn directly from Arequipa, Peru, where it is made in a mill that has been creating high-quality alpaca yarn for over 90 years. Read all about this yarn and see the available colors here.
3/10 sportweight. 950 yards per 1/2 lb. cone, 20 wpi, recommended sett of 10-16 epi.
Available on 1/2 lb and 2.2 lb cones.
Beautiful color, used for both warp and weft...2 cones made 3 perfect scarves! So soft and drapes well!
Love the colours , so soft. Always my first place to shop.
This yarn is the softest, lightest yet strongest alpaca that I have ever woven with. A true pleasure!
I wove a sample of alpaca for a scarf and it was so soft! Wet finished in cold water, hung dry. It did fine. Seemed to hold up fine under tension. I have the Cozy Poncho to do so I will see how this handles with larger pieces. Even the sample draped well. I also plan on doing double weft/warp pieces.
I love weaving with this yarn. I have made 2 of the ponchos and they are soooo soft!!
