Cool pattern, yarn not good for beginners

This is a cool pattern but I have two big complaints. 1 - $7 is just too much to ask for such a simple pattern. Even as a beginner I could look at the images and see how the warp was placed. Thankfully I purchased a kit and it came included 2 - this yarn is not very forgiving as a warp. At least not for a beginner. I guess maybe I’m too rough but once I had my warp in place and starting picking I quickly shredded several threads. Any newbies out there using mallo as a warp - be extra careful when direct warping.

Versatile pattern, beautiful fibre

I followed this pattern to create two tea towels instead of four napkins and ended with enough warp to weave a third smaller towel. The pattern was very easy to direct warp and the weaving went quickly on my rigid heddle loom.
