Fair warning: you're going to be tempted to buy the kit to make this project ;-)
Easy scarf for me, new to weaving. I made it on a rigid heddle loom. A simple pattern which looks impressive when finished.
I ordered this kit because I'm an ultra-beginner, and planning my own project seemed way over my head. This is just my 2nd warp. With the simple techniques and clear instructions, any weaver can tackle this project. I was worried my scarf would end up heavy and clunky because I'm using a 15 dent reed instead of a 12, but my worries were unfounded. This beautiful yarn is delightfully airy, and the soft colors and textures combine to produce results which seem far beyond my skill level. My scarf is still on the loom (I've finished the first two color blocks), but I can already tell it will have a soft drape, suitable for year-round wear. I couldn't be happier with my choice (blue/green)!
Just finished this scarf today, the colors blended beautifully (I used cream, sunshine and camel). The length is quite long, it definitely could have been about two feet shorter. I still have enough yarn to make probably three more scarves, which I may do, and create my own patterns. I used a 15 inch loom so it wasn’t quite as wide as the pattern specified, but actually I would prefer it to be even a few inches less wide. I wish the patterns showed photos of the scarf laid out, not just scrunched up. Otherwise, can’t complain! Please put out more lovely patterns for rigid heddle looms, especially the smaller ones like mine.
I just took the Rothko scarf off the loom and am so pleased with how it came out! I wove it on a rigid heddle loom, 12 dent and it’s a beautiful fine weave. Have been looking for project to enable me to weave finer cloth on a rigid heddle and this pattern, yarn was perfect! Yarn colors more muted than pictured, but still very pleasing. Only drawback..the yarn is challenging to wind into balls..tangles easily.
My projects are backed up right now but I couldn’t wait to open the box and touch this beautiful yarn. The colors are gorgeous...just as shown in Sarah’s website. I plan to make the Color Field Scarf. Hope to get it on the loom soon but thongs are slower now that I work full time again!
If you purchase this yarn, you won’t be disappointed.
