I haven't made a purchase yet. I'll need to speak with someone at the company. I see no mention of the gauge of the linen yarn, ie. 40/2, 30/2, or 20/2 or 20/1, etc. Listing a range of Sett isn't very helpful, since Sett is determined more by the use intended. I need to know what gauge the yarn is before I design the pattern or garment. Thanks much.
This linen is a delight to weave with. Love the colors - have several of them. In love with this fiber!
I used this thread in “Arctic” as warp with a Tencel in Royal blue in weft in matching thickness. It is strong, easy to work with and the feel came up great in a 1/3 twill. What I did not expect was the slubbiness. I had initially planned for the thread to be the same smoothness as the Tencel. I was working toward
a ‘pashmina’ style scarf/ shawl with it. The warp fringes are a bit nappy, but the person did like the scarf. It would get a 5 if not for the slubs.
I'd never worked with linen before and have discovered that I LOVE it! And as always, I also love GIST yarn; super fast, efficient, friendly, accurate service. Couldn't be better!
Nice. I’m making linen/cotton washcloths for family Christmas. There will be handcrafted bar soap to go with it.
