Italian Cotton/Linen Weaving Yarn ~ Sand
I love this as a warp. It adds gorgeous texture to the piece! It can be brittle as other reviews suggest, but if I am careful with it, it holds up.
I used this 50/50 blend for the Sunset Towels shown in Handwoven Magazine Jan/Feb 2019 as the weft that they suggested. I loved the color so much I ordered another cone in Goldenrod to mix it up a bit. My next set of towels are a crackle of blooming leaf design with the weft this wonderful cotton/linen. I don't think it would be good for a warp as it can come unraveled with the beat, but as weft yarn its great.
I highly recommend not using this yarn for warp. It is weak, slubby, and frays easily. If you do have to use, weave with very loose tension. Even with loose tension, I had nine broken warp threads during my project. Despite all of this, it has beautiful texture and color, and makes a great weft.
This is one of my favorite weaving yarns. I especially like the slubby texture. It's great on its own or as a complement to other yarns.
