    A colorful set of placemats to brighten your table. This Color-and-Weave project gives you four placemat design variations, simply by changing the weft color order. Order a kit.

    Equipment

    • Rigid heddle loom   (Read about adapting rigid heddle patterns for multi-shaft looms here.) 
    • 12-dent reed
    • 2 boat shuttles + bobbins or 2 stick shuttles

    Yarn

    Warp: Beam 3/2 Organic Cotton, 330 yds Cobalt, 170 yds Pistachio.

    Weft: Beam 3/2 Organic Cotton, 150 yds Cobalt, 150 yds Pistachio.

    I greatly appreciated the Gist team who explained in simple diagrams how to warp and weave this pattern for me. I enjoyed making a pretty fabric which I turned into a zip purse. Thanks for inspiring me.

    Placemats

    I’m using this pattern to make Placemats which I have on my RHL now. I chose a 100 cotton warp and weft in red white and blue. Measurements are very accurate and I’m very pleased so far.

    My Mom loves it!

    I bought a rigid heddle loom for my Mom for her Birthday. She’s just a beginner but she really loves it. Christine helped me to put together the starter kit that I wanted and answered all my questions. Communication was very easy. I also got some free patterns!
